Since the Women in Military Service for America (WIMSA) monument opened, thousands have visited to show their support of the 1.8 million women who have served America since the Revolutionary War.
Built by the WIMSA Foundation, the memorial stands on 4.2 acres at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery in Washington. Memorial spokesperson Jennifer Finstein says that thanks to all of AT&T’s support, among others, the project has been an incredible success-but there is still more work to be done.
Only 300,000 military women are registered in our computer system,” she says. “We hope to register all of the women who have served our country.”
